14th Annual General Meeting

JOY Foundation Nepal has successfully concluded its 14th Annual General Meeting on 30th December, 2011. The meeting was chaired and welcomed by its President, Mr. Raju Shrestha. Mr. Yagya Narayan Gupta, General Secretary of organization presented the Annual Report for the Fiscal Year 2010 / 2011 and Mr. Unil Narsing Rana, Treasurer, presented the Financial Report of the same year. On the same occasion JOY has also organized a solo painting exhibition of Mr. Laxmi Bhakta Bhasima, a student of Fine Arts student sponsored by JOY / NAFA and exhibition cum sales Stall of handicraft products produced by Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community has also been kept in the same occasion in cooperation with National Association of Deaf & Hard of Hearing. JOY also distributed scholarship to different disadvantaged and discriminated students on the same occasion. Lastly Mr. Amir Hada, 1st Vice President, thanked all Life Members and Invitees for attending this meeting to make the event a great success.

Community Child Rescue Centre

JOY Foundation Nepal and Nepal Australia Friendship Association, Queensland has jointly distributed Blankets and Woolen caps at Dhulikhel Jail for mentally ill jail inmates on 27th December, 2011 in cooperation with BESDEC / Nepal. On the same day JOY distributed shoes to the children at Community Child Rescue Centre – an orphanage home at Gwarko, Lalitpur.

Child Sponsorship and FEAT support

One child has been sponsored by JOY in the last fiscal year. 12 year old A. Karki has received a sponsorship for the period of one year for her schooling in a Boarding School.

As part of JOYs FEAT (Further Education and Training for Youth) Program, three especially challenged youth received trainings according to their interest and request. S. Neupane, a young visual impaired man with a passion for music has received a training in performing on Octopad instrument. K. Bhandari, a young physically impaired Lady has received a basic computer training. K. R. Chaaudhari, a young man tied to a wheel chair received a training in graphic (web) designing.
