Eye-camp in Sipaghat/Kavrepalanchok

From 24th to 26th November 2009 an Outreach Micro Surgical Eye Camp at Sipaghat – Kavrepalanchok was held in cooperation with Tilganga Eye Hospital and Nepal Australia Friendship Association (NAFA). Out of the 1043 outpatients, 173 persons have been operated during the camp. These camps are especially important in remote areas, where people have no or only limited access to hospitals.


Volunteer Training

In October/November a Volunteer Training program was held at Joy Foundation Nepal. Foreign Volunteers coming to Nepal to work in several social organizations have participated in a one week training that should help them getting prepared to their working field in Nepal. After this course the Volunteers start working full time in social projects and schools.

Project Management Workshop at Joy Foundation Nepal

On 16th to 18th November 2009 a Three-Day Workshop in Project Management was successfully conducted at JOY Foundation Nepal office.

Altogether fifteen participants from Society of Sunkoshi-Indrawoti (SUIS), Association for the Welfare of Intellectual Handicapped (AWIH), Campaign for Equality (CfE), BESDEC, Nepal Integrated Development Society (NIDS), Punarbal Plus, Support In Nepal, Network NGO, Namaste Nepal, New Nepal Disabled Society Centre (NNDSC) and SOCOD Nepal joined the workshop. Very good results were accomplished due to the participants enthusiasm and group spirit. The main content of that workshop was to learn to develop a Project plan, learn to use PM Tools, get to know about Monitoring and Evaluation and finally get some insights in proposal writing.
